Sideboard
Finally found a suitable sideboard to replace the old IKEA sideboard I used to have.
In one tof the drawers was written text that this has been purchased in Lahti 30.10.1946. The price has been 6100 Finnish marks.
Then sanding. The top was also here the worst part.
I had to get it on the plain wood t make it good again.
Looking better.
Almost all old varnish and colour has been taken away.
Now it is ready for the new stain.
Some sanding done also in the inside.
Ebony stain first, then sanding, next red and also brown stain. More sanding and staining and so on.
Original locks and other metal parts had been changed. I bought some new stuff to replace them.
I had to fill some holes made for the ugly handles. Also I had to make a little bit bigger cavity for the new locks to fit them properly.
First layer of laqcuer.
Doors and wrawers also having some laqcuer.
Everything laqcuered.
Door, drawer knobs, locks and eveything else attached. Now I let it stay like this for a few days so that it is really dry.
Side board is at home on its place. Nice. Old typewriter Everest mod. S.T. and new printer found their places.
