Got a piece of mahogany from my neighbor and I started to look what else have I got stashed and found one maple neck and a ziricote fretboard. Looks like a Telecaster to me.
Mahogany is too thin (about 25 mm) so I ordered a piece of basswood and will make a mahogany cap on the basswood. The mahogany is so thick that I maybe can make also some contours to the body
Gluing some extra wood to the headstock.
The slots have been cut and the truss rod is in its place.
Fretboard has been cut close to the correct size.
The plan is taking shape. Two P90 pickups and one lipstick in the middle. Nashville Tele but not the traditional pickups. Also a switch to make it possible to have all three pickups selected at the same time and neck and bridge at the same time. All together 7 different settings for pickups.
Frets are on and the body has been glued together and has got the shape of a Tele.
Parts are on their places for the first time.
Pick guard wiring was a bit trickier to do because the lipstick is attached to it but the P90’s are attached to the body.
Some color and first layer of shellack done.
A little bit mahogany color on the back.
Intonation ok and the action is good. A little bit work on the saddle still to be done.
Seymour Duncan SP90 pickups ja Seymour Duncan SLS-1 lipstick. Gotoh tuners.
